Description

Cheesy Chicken Crescent Rolls are a quick and easy dish featuring tender shredded chicken, creamy cheeses, and a hint of garlic and onion, all wrapped in buttery, flaky crescent rolls. Perfect for busy weeknights, family gatherings, or as an appetizer, these golden-brown delights combine comfort food classics with effortless preparation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the shredded cooked chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly blended.
  3. Open the can of crescent rolls and separate the dough into individual triangles along the perforated lines. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each triangle.
  4. Spoon about a tablespoon of the chicken and cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
  5. Starting at the wide end, carefully roll up each triangle towards the pointed end, encasing the filling inside. Place each rolled crescent seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  6. If desired, brush the tops with melted butter or a light egg wash for extra shine.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if using. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing and smoother filling.
  • Don’t overfill the rolls to prevent messy spills while baking.
  • Arrange rolls with enough space between them for even browning.
  • For crispy edges, bake directly on a baking sheet; for softer rolls, use parchment or a silicone mat.
  • Add a light brush of melted butter or sprinkle of grated cheese on top before baking for extra appeal.
  • Let rolls cool for 2-3 minutes before serving, as the filling will be hot.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 8-10 minutes or microwave for 15-20 seconds.
  • Freeze baked rolls for up to two months; reheat from frozen at 350°F for 15-18 minutes.
