- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ tsp sea salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheese: Cut mozzarella into uniform cubes and chill for 15 minutes.
- Set Up Coating Station: Create bowls for flour, eggs, and breadcrumb mixture.
- Coat Cheese Cubes: Roll each cube in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs. Double-coat for extra crispiness.
- Rest Coated Cheese: Refrigerate coated cubes for 10 minutes.
- Heat Oil: Fry at 350°F using a thermometer.
- Fry in Batches: Fry 5-6 bites at a time until golden brown.
- Drain and Season: Remove with a slotted spoon, drain excess oil, and sprinkle with Parmesan and basil.

- For a stronger flavor, substitute mozzarella with provolone or increase Parmesan in the breadcrumb mixture.
